The Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO) is committed to ensuring the reliable, efficient and sustainable transmission of electricity across Greece. As part of its ongoing growth and development, IPTO is seeking to recruit a Graduate Quality Control & Inspection Engineer to join its Supply Chain Division in Athens.

Your Role in the Team

As a Quality Control & Inspection Engineer, you will contribute to ensuring that materials and equipment supplied to IPTO meet the required technical specifications, contractual requirements and international quality standards. Working closely with technical departments, suppliers and testing laboratories, you will support the delivery of critical infrastructure projects through inspection, testing and quality assurance activities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviewing supply contracts, project contracts and system connection agreements in cooperation with the relevant Technical Departments.
  • Studying technical specifications, international standards and applicable regulations.
  • Performing inspections and quality control activities for materials and equipment based on contractual requirements and international standards.
  • Monitoring and witnessing tests at suppliers’ manufacturing facilities and accredited laboratories in Greece and abroad.
  • Reviewing test certificates, calibration records and laboratory accreditations.
  • Participating in the evaluation of equipment and the assessment of type-test certificates in collaboration with the relevant Technical Departments.
  • Evaluating inspection and testing programs.
  • Preparing and issuing inspection protocols.
  • Preparing and issuing material acceptance instructions and loading authorizations.
  • Issuing inspection reports and technical reports.
  • Monitoring the performance and behavior of materials and equipment.
  • Ensuring compliance with project timelines and quality requirements.

 

 

What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (Power/Energy Systems) or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Willingness to travel within Greece and internationally.

Desired Qualifications

  • Familiarity with quality assurance, inspection processes or testing procedures for industrial or energy-related equipment.
  • Knowledge of international engineering standards and technical specifications.

No prior professional experience is required.

Travel Requirements

This position is based at the Company’s offices in Athens and includes travel to manufacturers’ facilities and accredited laboratories both in Greece and abroad. The successful candidate will conduct inspections of materials and equipment as required. Travel schedules and arrangements will be determined by the Company according to operational needs to ensure the effective delivery of inspection services.
