The Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO) is committed to ensuring the reliable, efficient and sustainable transmission of electricity across Greece. As part of its continued growth and operational excellence, IPTO is seeking to recruit a Quality Control & Inspection Engineer to join its Supply Chain Division in Athens.
Your Role in the Team
As a Quality Control & Inspection Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, compliance and performance of materials and equipment used in IPTO’s transmission infrastructure projects. You will work closely with technical teams, suppliers and accredited laboratories, contributing to the successful delivery of strategic projects through rigorous inspection and quality assurance processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing supply contracts, project contracts and system connection agreements in cooperation with the relevant technical departments.
- Studying technical specifications, international standards and applicable regulations.
- Conducting inspections and quality control of IPTO materials and equipment in accordance with contractual requirements and international standards.
- Monitoring and witnessing tests performed at suppliers’ manufacturing facilities and accredited laboratories in Greece and abroad.
- Verifying laboratory accreditations, calibration records and test certificates.
- Participating in the technical evaluation of equipment and the assessment of type-test certificates in collaboration with the relevant technical services.
- Evaluating inspection and testing programs.
- Preparing and issuing inspection protocols, technical reports and inspection certificates.
- Issuing material acceptance documents and loading authorizations.
- Monitoring the performance and reliability of materials and equipment throughout their lifecycle.
- Ensuring compliance with project deadlines and quality requirements.
What We Are Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (Energy/Power Systems) or Mechanical Engineering.
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.
- Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in:
- Quality Control of power transmission system equipment, or
- Design of substations, transmission lines and high-voltage facilities, or
- Construction of substations, transmission lines and related electromechanical projects.
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
Desired Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree relevant to Quality Assurance, Energy, Engineering or Project Management.
- Experience in factory acceptance testing (FAT), inspection procedures or equipment certification processes.
- Knowledge of international standards applicable to electrical equipment and transmission infrastructure.

Travel Requirements
This position is based at IPTO’s headquarters in Athens and involves regular travel to manufacturers’ facilities and accredited laboratories in Greece and abroad for material and equipment inspections. Travel arrangements and schedules will be determined by the Company according to operational requirements and project needs.
