As part of our continuous growth, we are looking for a Business Development Associate to join our team in Athens.

Your role in the team

As a Business Development Associate, you will support the identification, evaluation and execution of strategic growth opportunities, contributing to key corporate initiatives, partnerships, transactions and transformation projects. Working closely with senior stakeholders, advisors and multidisciplinary teams, you will help shape business decisions that support IPTO’s long-term strategy and development.

What you will be working on

• Conducting financial analysis, market research and risk assessments to evaluate business opportunities and their strategic fit with IPTO’s objectives.
• Supporting the establishment of new business ventures and coordinating related activities, including transaction documentation, negotiations and stakeholder engagement.
• Participating in strategic projects by collaborating with external advisors, project managers and internal business experts.
• Performing industry and market research to identify, assess and recommend potential business development opportunities and investment targets.
• Contributing to corporate transformation and organizational improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and creating synergies.
• Preparing presentations, business cases and strategic analysis materials to support senior management decision-making.

What we are looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• Master’s degree in Finance, Economics or an MBA.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in Corporate Finance, Strategy, M&A, Transaction Services, Deal Advisory or related fields.
• Experience gained within a consulting firm, investment bank, Big 4 organization, infrastructure company or corporate strategy/business development function.
• Strong understanding of valuation methodologies and financial analysis principles.
• Advanced financial modelling and analytical capabilities.
• Excellent command of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence senior stakeholders.
• Very good command of the English language.

Nice to have

• Professional experience within the energy, utilities or infrastructure sector.
• Exposure to mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships or investment projects.
• Experience in reviewing and supporting transaction-related documentation, including Shareholders’ Agreements (SHA) and Share Purchase Agreements (SPA).
• Knowledge of energy markets and the broader energy transition landscape.
