As part of our ongoing growth, we are looking for a Market & Grid Regulation Specialist to join our team at the company’s headquarters in Athens.
Your role in the team
You will contribute to the shaping and development of the regulatory framework governing the electricity market and power system operation. Working closely with internal teams, national and European stakeholders, you will support the integration of new technologies, design of market mechanisms and regulatory initiatives that drive the evolution of the energy sector.
What you will be working on
• Preparation and submission of proposals for the establishment or amendment of the regulatory framework and its alignment with the European regulatory framework regarding electricity markets, relevant mechanisms managed by IPTO and the operation of the power system.
• Design of electricity markets, related mechanisms managed by IPTO and the participation of new technologies in the markets (e.g. Energy Storage, RES), including preparation of related studies in collaboration with other competent departments
• Design of the integration of new technologies into the power system and its operation, including preparation of relevant studies in cooperation with other competent departments.
• High-level design of algorithms for systems supporting the electricity market and power system operation.
• Preparation of studies and proposals regarding parameters approved by the Regulatory Authority for Energy, Waste and Water (RAAEY), such as Non-compliance Charges’ parameters, Transmission Use of System Charges and Balancing Market Fee.
• Monitoring European market and system operations guidelines and network codes, as well as methodologies established within their framework, and assessment of their impact on IPTO
• Participation in relevant working groups of ENTSO-E or other regional and European projects and intiatives related to the responsibilities of the role
What we are looking for
Required qualifications
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or another Engineering discipline from a recognized university in Greece or abroad
• Excellent command of English
• Very good computer skills, especially in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power BI)
• Fulfilled military obligations for male candidates
Desired qualifications
• Master’s or PhD degree in the Energy sector
• At least 1 year of proven professional experience relevant to the field of studies or participation in related research projects
• Good command of German or French or Spanish
• Good programming skills (e.g. Python, MATLAB) and experience in big data analytics
