The Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO) promotes innovation with the aim of ensuring the efficient and green electricity supply of the country by interconnecting every part of Greece, while remaining committed to its vision for the national energy transition. As part of its continuous development, IPTO is seeking to recruit a Power System Modelling & Compliance Engineer to join its team in Athens (Attica).

 

Your role in the team

You will support the team responsible for compliance studies, simulation activities and the development of technical requirements for Users connecting to the Transmission System. Your work will contribute to ensuring that generation facilities and RES stations comply with the relevant Grid Code provisions and European Connection Network Codes (CNCs).

 

What you will be working on

  • Performing, reviewing and validating compliance simulations and compliance tests for RES stations in accordance with the Grid Code, in collaboration with other IPTO Departments and external stakeholders.
  • Maintaining records and preparing reports or technical notes.
  • Developing and updating technical connection requirements and compliance procedures for all lifecycle stages of User installations subject to the ENTSO‑E Connection Network Codes (CNCs).
  • Developing detailed static and dynamic simulation models of power generation units, power plants and distributed generation connected to the Transmission System.

 

What we are looking for

  • Five‑year University degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) with specialization in power generation systems and/or electricity transmission systems.
  • Knowledge of one or more Power System Analysis software tools (e.g., Siemens PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, Matlab/Simulink, PSCAD or other EMT software).
  • Understanding of the regulatory and licensing framework for RES station connections.
  • Excellent command of the English language and strong written and verbal communication skills (Greek/English).

 

Desired qualifications

  • Postgraduate degree in areas such as Power System Stability Analysis, Protection Design/Settings, or Power Quality.
  • Three years of relevant professional experience in Greece or abroad.
